Jessica was born in Johannesburg and started ballet lessons at age three while at nursery school due to a foot problem.
 She matriculated at Reddham House School receiving a distinction in dance. While there, she also won the Dancer of the Year award for four consecutive years, Cultural Student of the Year and received her full colours ion dance.
Her teachers at Reddham House were Manuela Loureiro and Diane Beneke.
Her private teachers include Cynthia Bevan as well as Fiona Brown (Cecchetti method) with whom she completed her Advanced 2 Examination. Jessica has also obtained the Royal Academy of Dance’s Intermediate examination. Jessica is also the recipient of the Cecchetti Advanced 1 and the Advanced 2 awards. She was also coached by José Pretorius and Vyvyane Lorraine.
Jessica was a member of the Johannesburg Youth Ballet for four years where she was coached by Jean Beckley, Nigel Hannah, Dianne Richards as well as guest teachers.  She then joined The South African Ballet Theatre’s Academy where she trained with Jenny Barlow and in 2008, she entered the Cape Town International Ballet Competition.
Jessica has performed in several SABT productions including Janice Honeyman’s pantomime Pinocchio, The Nutcracker, Balletomania!, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty.
